We saw an opportunity to change this by manufacturing these cocktail drinking straws right here in the UK. We aim to offer an eco-friendlier alternative to bar accessories in the UK market. Strength in layers
It is very simple, really. Most paper straws are made with three layers of paper, which is called 3ply. We discovered that adding only one more layer, which is 4ply, makes a huge difference to the strength of the straw.
We have also found a different type of food-safe glue with an improved formula that doesn’t allow liquids to absorb into the paper.
With these few changes, we have made such strong paper straws.
